Glowing Orbs

The facts you crave...uncensored!

The Basics

Glowing orbs are spherical balls of light. People have captured orbs on film, when the person taking the photo saw nothing at the time, which has led to debunkers claims that orbs in photos represent nothing more than dust particles or digital camera artifacts. Explanations for eyewitness sightings of orbs usually involve ball lightning, a phenomenon equally as mysterious and poorly understood as glowing orbs themselves. While generally small (the size of a basketball or smaller), orbs can also appear as enormous, self-illuminated balls.

Sightings

Lisa A. Shiel, the founder of BPI, has seen orbs on several occasions and documented those sightings in her book Backyard Bigfoot. The BPI sightings collection includes eyewitness reports of glowing orbs too. In one case, two women found themselves pursued by an enormous glowing orb, which followed one of them all the way home.
