Have you ever felt a chill after walking into a darkened room? Maybe you caught a draft, or maybe...something else. For as long as writing has existed, humans have recorded beliefs in and encounters with spirits of the dead.
A related phenomenon, the trickster or poltergeist, has crossed over into other realms of the paranormal — such as UFOs and Bigfoot. Does this mean ghosts, UFOs, and Bigfoot all spring from the same source? We can only guess. Even if they all share some connection, this does not necessarily mean Bigfoot and UFOs are not "real," i.e. physical objects like trees or bears.
